Angry birds in patent suit maker

Updated July 22, 2011, at 14: 32 GMT Angry Birds game on iTouch Angry Birds is one of the most downloaded applications on iPhones, iPads, and Android Rovio, the Finnish manufacturer devices play Angry Birds, is being sued by a company of licenses for infringing their patents.

Lodsys said that Rovio and other developers violated their patents with iOS of Apple and Google's Android platform games.

Lodsys became embroiled in lawsuits with other large technology companies, including Apple.

Rovio said that he had not received any direct contact with respect to the complaint.

"As soon as we receive information more will take suitable measures," said a spokesman.

Angry Birds is one of the most popular games.

Rovio marketing Chief Peter Vesterbacka said last week that the game had exceeded 300 million downloads.

Lodsys, a company that licenses for patents, but has no other issues, he added five new defendants to a lawsuit filed in may in a Texas U.S. District Court.

With Rovio, Electronic Arts, Take-Two Interactive, name of Grand Theft Auto, Atari and others on the list of companies that are violating their patents.

Take-Two refused to comment. Electronic Arts and Atari were not available immediately for comment.
