Sales and McDonald's earnings rise

Its net profit for the three months to June 30 amounted to $1. 41bn (866 million pounds), compared with $1. 23bn a year earlier.

Revenue growth was led by Europe, where sales of McDonald's same store increased by 5.9%. Increased by 4.5% in us and by 5.2 per cent for the rest of the world.

Group revenue amounted to $6. 91bn, a 16 per cent of. 95bn $5 a year ago.

Chief Executive Jim Skinner's McDonald said that the latest results shown resistance in the company of "the constant challenges of our economic environment".

The company said that the cost of most of the ingredients in the United States and Europe continues to increase between 4% and 4.5% per year as inflation of food prices remain high.
